Description

A large, rectangular monument with a triangular top piece, decorated with a laurel wreath in the centre. The memorial is made of dark grey stone and has six bronze dedication and name plates attached. Four of the name plates are for those who served in the Second World War. These names are grouped under the emblems of the four Armed Services. There is also a separate group for “Service Women” on the fourth plate. A smaller brass plate for those who served in South East Asia is attached to the base of the monument. Directly in front of the monument is the drinking fountain. The memorial is located on the front landing of the Manildra Soldiers Memorial Hall, to one side of the entrance way.

This Honour Roll and Fountain was presented by Mr and Mrs G H Windus in memory of their son 420419 Flight Sergeant Pilot K N Windus RAAF killed in air operations U.K. November 27th 1943 aged 24 years.
