M.U.I.O.O.F. Loyal Prince of Wales Lodge No. 203 Tamworth District Second World War Roll of Honour

M.U.I.O.O.F. Loyal Prince of Wales Lodge No. 203 Tamworth District Second World War Roll of Honour
Description

The memorial is a timber roll of honour, with carved columns creating a frame around the centre panels where the inscriptions and names are printed in gold. The columns are decorated with simple carvings of crossed rifles and a stylised anchored cross. The memorial is dedicated to members of Loyal Prince of Wales Lodge No. 203 Tamworth District, of the Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows (M.U.I.O.O.F.), who served in the Second World War.

The lodge was established at Barraba by June 1903. It is likely the roll was unveiled where their meetings were held. It has since moved to the Barraba Historical Museum, also known as the Nandewar Historical Society Museum. Access to the memorial is restricted to the opening hours of the museum.
