Tweed Heads Advance Australia Fair Memorial

Tweed Heads Advance Australia Fair statues and flagpole
Description

This memorial consists of five bronze statues of children, positioned around a flagpole. It is set on a circle of paving, with a footpath connecting it to the Tweed Heads Anzac Memorial Fountain. The memorial is located in Chris Cunningham Park, where Anzac Day and other commemorative services are held.

The artworks were created by noted Australian sculptor Rhyl Hinwood. Hinwood has designed and produced many public artworks. She was awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2006 for services to the arts as a sculptor, and for her teaching and support of students. Hinwood was born in 1940 and is based in Brisbane, Queensland.
